Siawis welcome old friends

The Siawi people in Papua New Guinea demonstrated their organizational skills as they prepared for a visit from missionaries Ron and Carrie Lindsey who formerly served there. The Siawis planned events so that they could spend maximum time sharing and rejoicing with Ron and Carrie..

The Siawi church is now almost ready to function on their own and they are rejoicing over the many missionaries that God sent over the years to help bring them God’s Word. They publically thanked God for the missionaries and their part in establishing the church.

One if the believers, Malakai, told Ron, “You brought God’s Word to the Siawi people, but not only to them. Because you came, later Tom and Jason came, and I, too, heard God’s Word and was saved. I want to say thank you to God, too, to all of those who support and pray for you missionaries, as you come. And for the pilot and those who pray for him and support him.  And all the support people, and for all those who are standing with them, praying for them and supporting them.”

“We listened with amazement,” Linda Kreig wrote, “as Malakai recognized all those ‘invisible’ people who make it possible for the truths of the Bible to reach into the deepest jungles. This shows the depth and growth of their understanding of how God works through His people, reaching out to those who have never heard.”

Pray that soon the Siawi church will be able to function with its own leaders. Pray also for all the missionaries who have contributed to building and establishing this church.
