Requirements:
Associates
1. Knowledge of and ability to use public and social media
2. Excellence in written and verbal communication skills: Skill and experience in several styles of writing. Flexibility to change writing style to meet the task at hand.
3. Basic understanding of promotional and marketing techniques
4. Openness to work with other writers and editors and to accept constructive criticism; willingness to review, revise and correct a writing task until it satisfies the requirements.
5. Capability to collaborate with other departments to produce written materials needed
6. Creativity -- willingness to investigate and try new ideas
Must be an Ethnos360 career member having completed training at ETC or equivalent Global Partner.
Overseas Field experience preferred.
Writing experience required.
College-level writing or journalism (at least associate’s; bachelor’s or master’s is great).
Must live on campus in McNeal AZ. This is not a remote job.

Purpose: To communicate the vision and ministry of Ethnos360 Aviation through writing, in both print and electronic media, with an emphasis on how Ethnos360 Aviation facilitates church planting, making sure to connect the audience with the end result of their current or future participation.
Responsibilities:
- To plan, develop and compose written material (articles, stories, letters, promotional material, scripts, etc.) presenting the work of Ethnos360 Aviation to donors, supporters, prayer partners, volunteers, contacts, and event attendees. Written material would be suited to each audience to inform, thank, educate, interest, appeal to, etc.
- To follow up on any contacts/communication coming from material sent out or presented to various audiences
- To oversee other written material (posters, brochures, social media posts, etc.) going out from Ethnos360 Aviation to ensure that it meets style and standards
- To assist as needed with editing and proofreading of any internal or private organizational written material
- Work closely with the Media Team to accomplish stated communication objectives for Ethnos360 Aviation, all the while being proactive in evaluating effectiveness and experimenting with new strategies for greater visibility, especially in social and public media
Key Functions:
- Keep abreast of (and feel the heartbeat of) communications from aviation personnel, church planters, support personnel, fields, etc., to acquire relevant information for written material. (Use avenues such as prayer letters, email, Facebook, blogs, Teams)
- Pursue, select and file stories with a high connection to the aviation service that facilitated the event and that also have high resolution photos to accompany them.
- Research background information from varied sources to develop the stories/articles, check the facts, obtain background detail, and acquire relevant photos. Actively communicate with the people involved in the story, with eye witnesses and with those affected by the story. Obtain permissions to use material, and allow those involved in the piece to review before publishing.
- Write appealing and appropriate journalistic pieces for each type of mailing/audience
- Determine a call to action, if appropriate, for each published piece, to help the reader respond to the need, if they desire to
- Edit outgoing articles, stories, or any form of communication for style (see Ethnos360 style manual), conformity to our vision, inclusion of the reader, attitude of thankfulness
- Be actively involved in the design, production, and distribution of Ethnos360 Aviation promotional materials (brochures, posters, portfolios, etc.).
- Work with the data base manager, designers, printing and mailing companies and other professionals to accomplish each mailing
- Monitor the Ethnos360 website, email updates, magazine, etc., to determine if Ethnos360 Aviation articles and projects are being properly featured
