Where We Came From

It seems so very strange to look back to the 1940s and see how seldom we used missionary aviation. The planes were very small and had little in the way of avionics and instrument flying capabilities. Missionaries spent hours on the rivers and on the trails either hiking or on horseback. Did I say hours? I meant days were spent getting to their places of ministry.

How Far We’ve Come

Years passed. God provided more and better aircraft. Pilots have far more specialized training to ensure safe and professional service to our missionaries. An impressive cadre of trained mechanics maintain our modern and more complex aircraft. NTM Aviation has expanded its abilities to fly farther and safer. Consider the advantages of the new Kodiaks — longer flights, cheaper fuel and more space for cargo and passengers. Helicopters have taken their rightful place in our hangars right alongside the airplanes, indispensable in reaching places where fixed wing aircraft cannot go. All this allows missionaries to spend their time more effectively as they reach out to unreached people and to reach some people who would be very difficult to reach otherwise.

Where We Are Heading

NTM Aviation has the tools to sustain long-term church planting efforts. But aviation is expensive. Can the growing church planting group of national and tribal believers really afford it? Yes! Now, along with the tremendous capabilities that God has given to NTM Aviation, He is providing partners like you so that every NTM missionary can fly for an affordable rate, no matter how little they can pay.

Samuel F. B. Morse said, “What hath God wrought!” which expresses so well our awe in the light of God’s provision and grace. Has God impressed you to join with NTM Aviation to continue taking His Word to the world? Millions are unreached, but with your help none are unreachable.
